Job Description

1. ICT Management

Assist the Senior ICT Analyst in the development and implementation of the ICT Plan.
Supervise the maintenance of equipment provided by service providers.
Ensure proactive maintenance of networks (LAN/WAN), servers, data centers and any other ICT components, including effective incident resolution.

Take the necessary measures to ensure correct alignment with the processes and standards established for the LCR region (Latin America and the Caribbean Region), working as a team with the rest of the ICT focal points of said region and other United Nations agencies.
Ensure correct technical documentation, including inventories and processes, is continuously updated and available in the indicated repositories.

2. ICT Administration

Manage user accounts and Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) on Windows Server 2016.
Manage Google Workspace settings, users, and devices through the Admin Console.
Ensure maintenance of workstations, printers/photocopiers, digital scanners and other ICT equipment.
Assist in the maintenance of UNOPS data backup systems.
Assist and provide support in the management of the LAN/WAN network and communication equipment connected to fiber optics, wireless, Ethernet, etc.
Provide support for the management and maintenance of the PABX system.
Manage Google Meet video conferencing equipment and other audio/video devices.

3. User support

Provide first-level technical support via email, phone, or in person as needed.
Ensure quality helpdesk support, with a positive attitude oriented towards results and service and with a spirit of trying to do better every time (continuous improvement).
Log support requests and track them through the support portal.
Install workstations and configure the necessary ICT equipment for users.
Provide support for desktop operating systems, standard Windows software as well as UNOPS custom systems.
Based on experience and knowledge acquired, anticipate incidents and take appropriate measures to prevent them from occurring. Participate from the beginning in any process led by the company or headquarters where the ICT component is present, planning the necessary resources to ensure the proper execution of the process.
Provide support and troubleshoot issues related to Google Workspace applications.
Participate in staff training on hardware, software, file management and LAN systems as required.
Propose tools and methods to improve the IT work environment.
Provide quality support for hardware and software troubleshooting, tracking incidents until complete resolution.
Ensure correct prioritization of incidents/requests, being flexible in the event of unforeseen incidents or changes.
Collaborate with the ICT team to identify solutions to technical issues.
Participate in the installation of ICT workstations during internal moves and the arrival of new colleagues.

4. Administrative support

Maintain an up-to-date inventory of computer software and hardware.
Assist the supervisor in creating and updating an ICT support documentation library.
Participate in the management of inventory and stocks of supplies and spare parts.
Report computer problems to the supervisor and inform users according to instructions.
Perform any other related tasks as required.

5. Reports

Participate in the preparation of reports on hardware status, recurring IT problems and critical network equipment errors, as requested by the supervisor.

6. Capacity building and knowledge sharing

Assist the supervisor in training staff and providing support for hardware handling, maintenance, software applications and LAN/WAN systems.
Provide support to the supervisor in providing technical expertise to users, clients and colleagues.

Essential qualifications

Training
Completion of secondary education is required.
An undergraduate degree (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) in systems engineering, electronics, information science, computer science is desirable and may be considered as a substitute for four (4) years of professional experience.
One or more of the following certifications are desirable: CCNET/CCNA/CCNP/ITIL/Prince 2.

Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of information technology and/or telecommunications and systems, preferably within international organizations is required.
Experience in maintaining and supporting cloud services and suites such as Google Workspace or Office 365 is required
Experience supporting corporate services and applications using ticketing systems is required.
Experience supporting the Microsoft ecosystem is required

Language skills
Fluency in French is required.
Knowledge of English is an asset.
